LEAD on Campus
Building Mentally Healthy Students, One Campus at a Time
LEAD on Campus is a student centered mental health initiative of LEAD Community Foundation designed to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen peer support systems within tertiary institutions.
The initiative empowers students with the knowledge, tools, and safe spaces needed to understand mental health, seek help early, and support one another, creating healthier and more resilient campus communities.
Why LEAD on Campus Matters
Young people in higher institutions face growing mental health challenges driven by academic pressure, financial stress, social expectations, identity struggles, and uncertainty about the future. Unfortunately, stigma and limited access to mental health education prevent many students from seeking help.
LEAD on Campus exists to bridge this gap by taking mental health education, advocacy, and support directly to where students live, learn, and lead.
By increasing mental health literacy, we create safer environments where people feel confident to express their experiences, seek help early, and support one another without judgment. When knowledge replaces stigma, intervention becomes possible.

Our Vision
To build campuses where mental health is understood, openly discussed, and actively supported.

Our Mission
To equip students with mental health knowledge, advocacy skills, and peer support systems that promote early intervention, resilience, and positive wellbeing outcomes across campuses.
How LEAD on Campus Started
LEAD on Campus emerged from LEAD Community Foundation’s years of mental health education and advocacy work in schools and communities. Recognizing the urgent need for sustained mental health engagement within tertiary institutions, the initiative was developed as a structured campus based program.
What began as targeted awareness sessions evolved into a comprehensive model that empowers students as mental health ambassadors and change makers within their institutions.

What We Do
LEAD on Campus delivers engaging, practical, and student friendly mental health programs such as mental health awareness seminars and workshops, campus dialogues and safe space conversations, stress management and emotional wellbeing sessions, suicide prevention and early intervention education, anti stigma campaigns and advocacy drives, and digital and social media mental health engagement.
Campus Mental Health Ambassadors
At the heart of LEAD on Campus is the Campus Mental Health Ambassadors Program which trains students to promote mental health awareness among peers, lead advocacy and sensitization campaigns, encourage help seeking behavior, and support peer to peer mental wellbeing conversations.
This approach ensures sustainability and student ownership of mental health initiatives on campus.
Our Impact
Through LEAD on Campus, we have reached hundreds of students across tertiary institutions, trained student leaders and volunteers, increased mental health literacy and awareness, reduced stigma through open and peer led conversations, and created safe spaces for students to share, learn, and heal.
